SOC 2 Type 1 Audits

Getting your feet wet in terms of SOC 2 compliance begins by performing a SOC 2 Type 1 assessment. Such an assessment is done for a point in time date – i.e., August 31, 20xx, which is different from a SOC 2 Type 2 assessment.

SOC 2 Type 2 Audits

SOC 2 Type 2 audits are those performed over a generally agreed test period, which is usually six (6) months, but can be longer at times, or even shorter. The key difference between a SOC 2 Type 1 and a SOC 2 Type 2 is that a Type 2 has a test period, whereas a Type 1 does not.
